Nominations
are now open! Section 5:05 Election, Designation, and Term of Office: All officers shall be elected during the second year of the term of office at an annual meeting of the corporation. Executive Board officers shall hold office until the expiration of their term. The office of President of the Association shall be filled by progression/succession of the chair of Vice President. Term of office for the President of this Association shall be for two (2) years. The office of the Vice President, Second Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Sgt. Of Arms and Chaplain shall be by election. Each term of office whether by election, appointment or succession shall be for two (2) years. Regional Representatives shall be elected by the regular members residing in the region or by a full quorum and that representative must reside in the region when elected. Representatives shall be elected for a two year term or until there successor is elected or appointed. Any representative may seek office in the corporation provided the requirements of the by-laws are met. All regional representatives will report directly to the Second Vice President. Section 8:04 Election of Officers: Each officer shall be nominated and elected by verbal and written ballot for a two year term. Nominations for office shall be made by a regular member in good standing and shall be accepted by the nominee, in person at a regular meeting and documented by the Secretary or in writing to the Chairperson of the Elections Committee or the Secretary. Officers including Regional Representatives shall be elected by ballot at the annual meeting of the regular members, excluding the succession of the Vice President to the office of President. Section 8:05 With the exception of the initial officers of this corporation, a regular member must have served as a school resource officer or have a special interest or affiliation with the School Resource Officer Program at the time of assuming his/her new office.
If you would like to nominate someone (a current SCASRO member) for the listed offices below, that meet the criteria of office per the SCASRO By-Laws please submit the following information, via email. Please submit their name, department or school, contact information including a current e-mail address. The nomination will posted as soon as the we have confirmed the member has accepted the nomination and we have received ALL information from the nominee. If you have been nominated for an office and are willing to accept the nomination, please send a bio, information and a digital photo of yourself and why you would like hold that office, to the SCASRO Secretary by email at secretary@scasro.org
